It’s the best board to start with electronics and programming. If this is your first experience with the Arduino platform, the UNO board is the most robust one you can start working with. UNO is the most widely used card in the entire Arduino family.

The Arduino Uno R3 is the most widely used and best-selling Arduino board these days. It is usually the first option of many people, as it has a great number of ports available and great compatibility with Arduino shields. The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal, a USB connection, a power connector, an ICSP, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller.

Simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or plug it into an AC-DC adapter and you’re good to go! The Arduino Uno differs from all previous boards in that it does not use the FTDI USB-to-serial controller chip. Instead, it features the AtmegaCH340 programmed as a USB to serial converter.

The Arduino Uno is an open-source product that comes with a processor, fully assembled and with a bootloader ready to connect to the computer’s USB. As an open project, there are many ready-to-use examples and libraries with Arduino.

This Arduino Uno board is the latest version available (also known as Rev3) brings several improvements over the previous ones:

• More robust reset circuitry.
• SDA and SCL pins next to the AREF pin.
