PIR Motion Detector HC-SR501
The HC-SR501 PIR Motion Detector is one of the simplest to use motion sensors on the market, and fully compatible with Arduino. Feed it and wait about 5 seconds for it to start. After this period, if anything moves in its read range, the output pin goes to high logical level. This output level is 3.3V, so it can be easily understood by an Arduino board on a digital readout.
The sensor has two potentiometers on the back. One of them selects how long the output pin will stay on when the sensor “sees” some movement. This time can go from 5 seconds to 2.5 minutes. For use with Arduino, you can hold it at 5 seconds. The other potentiometer is used to adjust the maximum reading distance, which can vary nominally from 3 meters to 7 meters. The opening angle is approximately 120º.
Characteristics:
- Power: 5V to 20V DC;
- Output Voltage: 3.3V
- Detention angle: 120°;
- Range.: 3m~7m;
- Dimensions: 33 x 25 x 25 mm
