Screen and Battery Quality Guide
At Micro Wire, technical transparency is essential! Understand the exact differences between the various component qualities to make the right choice for your repair. We provide all the necessary information so that, whether you are an enthusiast or a professional, you know exactly what you are installing in your device.
1. Screen Qualities
ALL BRANDSIncell (LCD)
Budget-friendly option. On models that are originally OLED (e.g., iPhone X, 11 Pro), this technology converts the screen to LCD. It consumes slightly more battery and has backlighting, but it is functional and cheap.
Hard OLED
OLED technology built on a rigid glass base. It has vibrant colors and true blacks, but it is more fragile than Soft OLED (the internal display can crack from hard drops).
Soft OLED
The best compatible option. It uses a flexible panel identical to the original. It offers high impact resistance (does not break internally easily), perfect colors, and the correct thickness.
Refurbished (OEM)
Screens with the Original Apple image panel, where only the broken front glass was replaced in a specialized laboratory. Keeps 100% image quality and brightness.
Pulled (Disassembly)
Genuine parts removed from new or used devices. It is a component 100% manufactured by the brand, maintaining all factory characteristics.
Service Pack
New part sold directly by the brand. It is 100% compatible and factory tested. Restores and maintains all original features of the device without any loss of quality.

Technical note: in Micro Wire Selected batteries, the controller is the original from Texas Instruments (TI Chip) — the same one Apple uses from the factory, ensuring maximum stability in reading percentages and cycles.
2. Screen Technologies
- TFT Basic and older technology. It has reduced viewing angles and lower brightness. Common in entry-level devices.
- LCD / IPS The quality standard for liquid crystal displays. Offers good colors and excellent viewing angles. Requires backlighting.
- OLED Organic light-emitting diodes. Each pixel has its own light, allowing for vivid colors, high contrasts, and absolute blacks.
- AMOLED Active Matrix OLED. An evolution of OLED with greater fluidity and lower power consumption. Standard on Samsung and high-end Androids.
3. Important Notes: Apple and Components
System Messages (Unknown Part)
In recent iPhones, parts are digitally "signed" and paired to the device's original motherboard.
- Pulled or Refurbished: Even though they are original parts, the system may not recognize them (showing a warning in the settings), as the part belonged to another device. To avoid this, the original control chip (IC) must be transplanted.
- Micro Wire Selected Items: Items in the Micro Wire Selected range have the ability to pass the official Apple Diagnostics activation. After this process, the part is properly recognized by the system (System Configuration) as a "Reused Part" or "Used Part", eliminating error messages.
- Transplant: If the item is not from the Micro Wire Selected range, check the description to see if it is compatible with a chip transplant (structure prepared for micro-soldering).
Batteries and TI Chip
The Micro Wire Selected designation also applies to batteries. If the battery indicates TI Chip, it means it has the original Texas Instruments controller (exactly the same one Apple uses from the factory), ensuring maximum stability in reading percentage and cycles.
What is a Service Pack?
It is the official part sold by the brand in its sealed service packaging.
It is 100% compatible with the device and always factory tested, ensuring that it restores and maintains all original features (such as True Tone, Face ID, or specific screen functions).
Attention: The installation of Service Packs and Micro Wire Selected components requires the device to be previously updated to the latest software version (iOS) to allow proper diagnosis.
What is OEM?
Acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
It is an item with the same technical specification as the original, undergoing the same rigorous manufacturing and quality tests. However, for legal reasons (customs and brand patents), the product may be sold without the brand logos printed on the part.
Warranty Periods by Component
Screen Warranty
- Service Pack (Official): 1-Year Warranty.
- Other Qualities (OLED, Incell, etc.): 6-Month Warranty.
Battery Warranty
- Service Pack (Official): 6-Month Warranty.
- Other Qualities (Micro Wire Selected, TI, etc.): 3-Month Warranty.
The battery warranty covers manufacturing defects and premature failures. It does not cover natural chemical wear caused by the user's charging cycles.
Technical Warning
Removal of New Apple Batteries (Debonding-on-Demand)
The batteries in new Apple devices are equipped with a new electrical adhesive release technology. The absence of the classic "pull-tabs" radically changes the extraction procedure in the laboratory.
Prohibited Procedures:
The use of spatulas, mechanical leverage force, or liquid solvents (such as isopropyl alcohol) is now strictly prohibited. Forcing the removal of the battery exposes the technician to an extremely high risk of fire (thermal runaway) and irreparable deformation of the chassis. Follow exclusively the electrical voltage guidelines provided by the manufacturer.
